The Alberta Avenue Business Association has established the Window Repair Program to support the Street Vibrancy Strategy and Safety and well-being strategic directions. The program provides grants to businesses within the Alberta Avenue Business Improvement Area that have experienced broken windows due to vandalism.

The funding is limited and will be closed to applications once fully allocated. Commercial street-level businesses and not-for-profit organizations with valid licenses are eligible. Exceptions may be considered based on exceptional circumstances, subject to the Director's judgment. The program guide includes eligibility criteria, the grant process, and an online application link.

The Storefront Improvement Program will accept applications from business owners and property owners between February 1-29, April 1-30 and October 1-31, 2024.

The Storefront Improvement Program offers matching reimbursement grants of up to $25,000 for a mid-block building and up to $50,000 for a corner building to help you upgrade the exterior of the building. Eligible costs include:

  • Upgrading windows and doors

  • New paint and exterior cladding

  • New signage

  • Repairing or adding new awnings

  • Landscaping, bike racks and benches

For the full list of eligibility requirements and how to apply, please see the Storefront Improvement Program Guide HERE.
